The armed security guard is required to be licensed in the state of Delaware, they are required to provide personal information and to take a state certified training course prior to being issued a license. The armed security guard license will be valid for five years from the date it was issued.

Anyone who wishes to be licensed, under this Chapter, as a noncommissioned security guard, must meet and maintain the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age;
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor involving the act of theft
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor involving drug offenses
  • If served in the armed forces, must not have been discharged other than honorable conditions
  • Must not be a member or employee of any law enforcement organization, as defined by the Council of Police Training
  • Must meet and maintain the qualifications set and approved by the Board of Examiners
